At
the east of Japan there is a small bay within a beautiful and lost
landscape. This house is placed on the top of a big group of
round-shaped stones, facing the strong waves of Kioato Sea. The plan
originates in three geometric centres, natural marks found on one of
the stones. All forms and spaces are mixed in permanent movement.
Actually, the building seems to move. The whole mass (or space: here
they seem to be synomimus) is well structured; by superimposing layers,
volumes are defined. Inspiring forms of the sea are expressed in the
house: each surface, blade or angle sets some clear dialog with outer
reality. The house is composed by one main living public space (it
surrounds a fireplace) and five private pods placed along the axis,
containing a series of spaces for resting, playing and meditating
facilities.
