This Cenotaph came out after reading a book written by Francois-René de Chateaubriand about Rancé. It tells about life and about solitude, about life and time. It honors the figure and the ideas of Rancé, monk from La Trapa able to see himself in the crossroad of modern times. The building remembers the absent body of the monk, and appears as a viewing point on the hill.It is a as well a space for dreaming, but for dreaming awake, that is the main difference between our pragmatic dreams, and the Dreams of Humanism.
